Rather than building a custom web site from scratch, many website
owners may opt to select a content management system such as Joomla,
Plone, or PHP-Nuke to organize their content and manage the overall
look-and-feel of the web site. While content management systems offer
an easy and cost-effective alternative to custom web sites, often times
customers need additional functionality not inherent within the default
installation of a given CMS. This is where “plug-ins” or “modules”, as
they are referred to, come into play. From small personal “blog”
plug-ins in Word Press to Joomla modules, which poll for Department of
Homeland Security information, Atomic Fission has built modules and
plugin-ins for just about every flavor of PHP-based content management
system.
