Content Management Systems PDF Print E-mail

A content management system or "CMS" essentially allows the web site's owner to focus on the textual content of his or her site, without ever being concerned with underlying presentation technologies such as HTML, CSS, or other cryptic coding concepts. While the content manager focuses on updating textual content, the CMS software provides the framework for presentation.

Technical Experts Need Not Apply

Web site content management should not be a complex process. With Atomic Fission, the process of adding and updating web site content should be familiar to anyone with basic word processing skills. Our hosted CMS solution abstracts archaic web design concepts and replaces them with equivalents used in every-day business software. We believe clients should focus on content, not technology.

Timely Content Delivery

Mitigate the “webmaster bottleneck.” Content updates no longer need to be sent off to a third-party source of technical expertise. Updates to web content are performed by in-house staff according to a timeline that's favorable to you. Furthermore, content can be created, yet hidden from your visitors until a predefined publish date is reached. Content can also be set to expire so your site never appears stale or outdated.

Delegated Control

From sales to support, web sites encompass a diverse set of information which is typically managed by several different entities within your organization. Atomic Fission's CMS system parallels this business model by allowing different internal departments to have control over their respective portion of your site. Additionally, control can be hierarchical. This lends the ability to have content created by one internal department be reviewed by another (such as a public relations or legal division) prior to going live.

Extensible Functionality

Never reinvent the wheel. Web sites often require common functionality such as contact forms, surveys, shopping carts, and search engines. However, time and time again we see webmasters building these applications from scratch or purchasing third-party add-ons. At Atomic Fission, we have an extensive add-on module library which makes it incredibly easy to add functionality to your site with just a few clicks of the mouse. Standard (non-custom) modules are offered at no additional charge, and are designed to adhere to your site's visual appearance.

A One-Stop-Shop

As Atomic Fission's CMS product is a hosted solution, you'll never have to worry about servers, software licensing, web hosting, or in-house technical expertise. These and countless other other services are bundled into one affordable and convenient monthly fee.

How it Works

Once your new CMS-enabled site is operational, managing your site is an incredibly simple process, all done completely via a web browser. You'll receive an email with a web address used to login to the administration porition of your site. Once logged in, you may choose to add additional users, or begin adding/updating content. The minimal system requirements your client computer must adhere to in order to update your website are depicted below.
