An ASV or Approved Scanning Vendor is a vendor who provides a product or service which satisfies the PCI Data Security Standard requirement for vulnerability scanning. ASVs typically provide vulnerability scanners which may either be used in-house, and/or as outsourced applications targeted at a customer's Internet-facing infrastructure.
